The concept of a Beatles themed hotel in Liverpool has been prevalent amongst Beatles enthusiasts in the city since the late 1980's. The choice of a suitable location and the finance to make the vision a reality only came together in 2004 when plans were finalised to convert one of Liverpool's classic city centre buildings into a luxurious 4 star hotel.From an early stage the objective was to create a unique environment that offered high quality hotel facilities with an exciting and interesting 'twist' in the clever presentation of a theme that would be both subtle yet challenging in the way the incredible story of the Beatles was told.The Hard Days Night Hotel features visually stunning, specially commissioned artwork covering key events in the lives of four lads from Liverpool whose fame knows no boundaries.As the doors were opened on Friday 1st February 2008, this ambitious two year development project that has seen the conversion of an historic listed building in the old merchant district of the city into a prestigious 4 star hotel was finally complete.Despite the construction of two additional floors at roof level, the refurbishment programme has carefully restored many of the original features of the building including both the internal and external marble columns, the central staircase and the impressive entrance to what is now the hotels Reception and Brasserie area.The extensive alterations to the internal area of the building has provided 110 guest bedrooms including the two exclusive Lennon and McCartney suites, bars, restaurants and function rooms, as well as a wedding suite.Mike McCartney has produced, for the Hard Days Night Hotel, an exclusive collection of photographic images that record key stages of the development and offer his own perspective on the creation of Liverpool's most talked about hotel.
